Instant messaging has become very popular communication tool. Schools, hospitals, businesses, teachers, and students use this very convenient tool in communicating with each other. Instant messaging allows you to have a list of buddies that you can interact with. You can send messages to any of the people in your list, often called a buddy list or contact list, as long as that person is online. Sending a message opens up a small window where you and your friend can type in messages that both of you can see.
Most of the popular instant-messaging programs provide a variety of features:
Instant messaging systems support Internet based synchronized text chat. Instant messaging supports one on one and even group chatting. This form of communicating has become the newest and most popular among all Internet interaction. There are two types of instant messaging connectivity. One is discrete connectivity, which is user uses dial up access. The second is continuous connectivity, which is the user is connected 24 hours seven days a week. (colorado)
